Mojo and Boojum are my Rhodesian Ridgeback dogs. Ridgebacks are large, short-haired dogs characterized by a strip of fur on their back that runs the opposite direction as the rest of their fur. They're large dogs: Mojo is full-grown and weighs in 105 pounds, Boojum hasn't finished filling out and weighs 120 pounds. Ridgebacks are walking contradictions: they laze around on the couch all day, but have great energy and need daily exercise; they are very gentle dogs, but are fiercely defensive of their home and family; they are amazingly intelligent and know what you want them to do, but usually can't be bothered. They are a fantastic compromise in everyway in that they excel in many respects but don't specialize in any: very strong, but not the strongest; very fast, but not the fastest; very smart but not the smartest; very big, but not the biggest. They don't shed much, are a beautiful color, have a cool mowhawk on their back, and have wonderful personalities. I love 'em.
